1) What is the basis for this project? What are you going to express through this project? what would you like people to think about when they view your art?
The basis for my project is featured around my love for the beauty of the japanese culture and their way of doing art. I wanna express the beauty of the japanese culture. I would like people to think about some of the struggles japan has gone through and how it is worth while helping them due to the artistic talent many of them have.
2) What skills and knowledge are needed to complete this project? Where can you find this information?
You dont really need much for skills to be able to do what i am going to do because it is more so based on how you feel and being free about how you do your art and as far as knowledge goes, all you need is to know the types of art they do and what it is you want to do for your project. You can choose any search engine really to find the information you need, for example i used google and mainly looked at the pictures of their art and went on a few sites that explained how they do their art and so on.
3) what materials, techniques, resources, etc.. will you use to complete your project?
The materials required for my project choice would be a canvas, paint, paint brushes, and a clean station to work at. There isnt really any tehnique required for this project just the technique of having fun and being free. Resources needed qould just be the computer to get your information or even books in your school/public library.
I too am drawn to Japanese art. I am not sure if it is because of the smoothness of the lines or if it is because of the colors that they use. There seems to be a calming simplicity to it.

In Japan they make origami a quite a bit. If a person makes 1000 paper birds and gives them to someone it is a sign of a wish come true or of hope. At the site of Hiroshima in Japan you would often find many mobiles made out of a 1000 origami birds.
If you want to see what the origami birds look like you can go to this link by wikipedia. I also included a youtube link for how to make them if you are interested:
